We are excited to announce that it is time to elect a new Democracy Network Steering Group who will play a pivotal role in guiding the network.
We would like to say a massive thank you to those who have served on the current Steering Group. Their dedication and insightful contributions have been instrumental in shaping the Democracy Network and we are incredibly grateful for their time and commitment.
As we open the nominations for the re-election process we invite all eligible organisations within the Democracy Network to participate. This is an opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and effectiveness of our network.
Nominate your organisation, or another organisation, by providing details in the nomination form. We seek representation from diverse areas, ensuring a broad spectrum of expertise.
2024 Steering Group Nomination Form
We specifically aim to elect 12 members, with one member from each of the following categories:
Additionally, at least three positions on the Steering Group will be held by organisations whose primary purpose is working on inclusion, representation, and voice (such as BAME, disability, women, young people’s organisations, economic exclusion).
Furthermore, 50% of Steering group members must be based outside of London.
Elections will then take place for candidates where the category is contested. Elections will be held by the Single Transferable Vote which will enable us to find the top candidate from each of the categories without needing to hold separate elections. Individual links will be sent for each elector (one per email address). These are unique and can only be used once. Reminders will be sent periodically to those who haven’t voted yet.
All registered members of the Democracy Network can vote and will receive an email link to vote.
OPA Vote software will run the count and supply the results to Democracy Network staff for verification. The announcement of elected members will be made after the verification process.
Your active participation is crucial in shaping the future direction of the Democracy Network. We look forward to receiving your nominations and to welcoming our new Steering Group.
Please note, all individuals wanting to either nominate themselves for the Steering Group or vote in the elections, must be an active member of the Democracy Network. (Joining instructions here)
